Stowe Regional Water Resource Recovery Facility

The Stowe Regional Water Resource Recovery Facility will receive wastewater flows from the Town of Mt Holly under a regional partnership and ultimately flows from the Town of Belmont also. The Stowe facility will treat water to a high quality (higher than most stormwater runoff) before discharging to the Catawba River. This portion of the project will be constructed in two major pieces – the pumping facility to move water across Long Creek to the core treatment processes and those core process units.

Status: Charlotte Water began design on the pumping facility in January 2019 and the core process units in February 2020.   The construction will be phased approach with work beginning in late 2021 or early 2022.
