The Annual Career Fair at Whitewater Middle School

This spring, representatives from Charlotte Water and Hazen and Sawyer, the lead design engineer for the Stowe Regional Water Resource Recovery Facility, participated in the Whitewater Middle School Career Fair on April 22. We shared careers in water with more than 200 students at this ESTEM Magnet School (Environmental, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Students had the opportunity to learn about the wide range of careers involved in planning, designing, constructing, and operating critical water infrastructure projects that serve their communities.

Just down the road from Whitewater Middle School,  we are building the transformational Stowe Regional Water Resource Recovery Facility. One of our engineering partners, Hazen and Sawyer joined us to get students excited about careers in engineering through their augmented reality (AR) technology that brings blue prints to life.

Throughout the year, project partners also supported STEM-focused educational initiatives that introduced students to careers in technology, engineering, and related fields. Learn more about two recent outreach efforts below:

Charlotte Water preserved land around the facility for a Community Benefit Project that will provide outdoor education and recreation amenities for students and the community. We have been a proud partner of Whitewater Middle School for several years and look forward to continuing our support for years to come.
